Be Careful When Shopping For Storage

Nearly every storage facility has a clause in their rental agreement, allowing them to raise rental rates with X days written notice. Recently, several of our new customers mentioned that they moved their property to OutBack Storage because the facility where they previously stored raised their rates after only 3-4 months. Here at OutBack Storage, we never raise a customer’s rate during their first 12 months, and would only raise rates after that based on supply and demand. We don’t automatically raise rates annually as some facilities do. So, when you are shopping and a facility offers you a surprisingly low rate, ask if they will guarantee that rate for at least a year and be sure to get their guarantee in writing.
